Job Title: RF Systems EngineerJob Type: Full Time / PermanentLocation: Redcliff / Medicine Hat AB, CanadaRequired Qualifications: M.Sc. or Ph.D. EngineeringStart: Negotiable Remote Option: NoWork Hours: FlexibleJOB DESCRIPTIONUVAD is looking for an individual to join our team to lead RF/microwave system design and testing for next generation Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) platforms. This position will include design, development, prototyping and testing of RF systems. The focus will be on modeling, simulation, and live testing of RF systems for ground and flight equipment. Candidates should have a fundamental understanding of how to conduct modeling and simulation of RADAR, SATCOM, GNSS, and telemetry applications. Other responsibilities may be designated to the candidate to help facilitate the company’s business objectives including field testing.   RESPONSIBILITIESYour responsibilities will include:Taking RF System level requirments and end use cases and translating these design inputs into development and design stage of RF hardware for testing and operational qualification.Modelling/Simulation of Microwave/RF gain patterns for communication systems and sensor/instruments. Taking RF Systems from design and development stage to manufacturability and productionAntenna analysis and designSupport development of system applications related to RADAR, SATCOM, GPS, and telemetry applications. Work on designs using modelling and CAD toolsWork with interdisciplinary team to interface RF Systems design with other UAV systems – Embedded System, Mechanical, Aerodynamics.QUALIFICATIONS:M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Microwave Engineering or related field is required.Strong academic background in RF Systems or relevant RF System engineering work experience required.Experience with electromagnetic simulation and analytical tools. Experience with microwave/RF System or subsystem competent analysis and design.Experience with spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generators, oscilloscope an asset. Must work well in a team and independent environment.Holding a Class 5 Drivers LicenseWork authorization / security requirements (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident who can receive government reliability security clearance).ABOUT UVADUVAD was founded to create a focused team tasked with the development of new, disruptive capabilities for legacy and emerging unmanned vehicle markets.
