Job Description

The Store Manager / General Manager is responsible for leading both Maison Kitsuné and Café Kitsuné Vancouver in all areas of business operations – financial results (maximizing sales and profit goals), hiring, training and performance management of all staff, customer development/service, merchandise presentation, stock management, brand building and public relations/events. The Store Manager / General Manager also focuses on creating and executing the strategic plan for both Maison Kitsuné and Café Kitsuné in Vancouver. In the role of Store Manager / General Manager for Maison Kitsuné and Café Kitsuné in Vancouver, you will take on responsibilities including but not limited to: Sales, Financial & Reporting Management • Establish strategies to achieve and surpass daily/weekly/monthly/annual sales objectives. • Seek to increase sales, monitor weekly and monthly P&L data, and work to increase bottom-line profits. • Responsible for ensuring that all financial duties and reporting are completed accurately, including all administrative tasks and payroll and personnel activities. • Develop CRM initiatives to build a clientele network (local, international and VIP). • Seek to grow our customer base and increase store traffic by proposing and leading promotions within and outside the store as well as maintaining a functional, efficient, pleasant store environment and high-quality food and beverage offerings. • Help organize strategic marketing efforts, including overseeing social media presence, completion of sampling and seasonal promotional goals and events, and interfacing with various groups/organizations to grow customer base. • Impeccable communication with corporate officers and the team to maintain the same practices and secure policy and procedure at all levels of the operation. • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with vendors to maintain business relationships and secure appropriate pricing. Leadership & Team Management • Knowledgeable about the ideals and principles of Maison Kitsuné and Café Kitsuné and ensure that our story is appropriately conveyed by staff and store environment. • Create, adjust, and implement training plans for new employees. Ensure full understanding and regularly observe and coach staff on their performance, celebrating successes as well as discussing and offering suggestions if more feedback is needed. • Perform annual employee reviews and conduct ongoing coaching and training sessions to ensure high levels of performance. • Recruit, manage and oversee the hiring process and assist in hiring and promotion assessments. • Conduct regular management meetings to review financial reports, issues related to personnel, upcoming promotions, events, activities, etc. • Regularly update the team on business performance, product knowledge and new initiatives. • Provide clear, motivating, and constructive performance feedback in a timely manner, including annual personnel evaluations and monthly performance reviews. • Make sure all employees comply with company policies, practices, and procedures. • Help to create a positive, enthusiastic, and well-trained store culture by providing an informed, honest, and optimistic example for the team. • Respond appropriately and positively to ideas, concerns, complaints, and comments from management and staff. • Maintains, models, and coaches on the speed of service and organizes employees to maintain the most efficient floorplan and deployment for serving customers. Visual Merchandising Management • Take care of the general look of the store -cleanliness, tidiness, and efficiency- to ensure the best image. • Oversee and execute effective communication between FOH and BOH team to ensure that food, beverage, and merchandise offerings are fresh, labelled appropriately, and kept well-stocked. • Guide direction of new seasonal food and beverage offerings and contribute any skills and ideas for new items for Café Kitsuné. • Ensure store appearance is always maintained, including shop floor, café seating area, condiment bar, and FOH/BOH. • Store Operations Management • Manage inventory, communicate stock take/replenishment needs, and closely guide seasonal buys. • Maintain neat and organized stockroom, properly receiving merchandise, and controlling damages. • Adhere to and enforce loss prevention and security policies, credit policies and procedures -credit cards, discounts, employee purchases, deposit logs, return and exchange policies. • Control store operating costs (per budget -salary, inventory, expenses, etc.). • Continuously analyze key financial data, monitoring operating efficiencies and competition activity, identifying product/business trends and opportunities, and setting aggressive action plans. Cafe Operations Management • Maintain the operating budget and verify that standards and legal obligations are followed. • Monitor food & beverage inventory levels and communicate with vendors to maintain business relationships and secure appropriate pricing. • Oversee and execute effective communication between baristas and kitchen staff to ensure that food and beverage offers are fresh, labelled appropriately, and kept well-stocked. • Guide the director of new seasonal food and beverage offerings and contribute any skills and ideas for new items. • Hire, train and manage the performance of all cafe staff. • Develop team's knowledge of the brand's overall culture, mission, values, and spirit. • The position is based in Gastown, Vancouver, and the Store Manager / General Manager will report directly to the Director of Stores – Americas with a dotted line to the Brand Director – Americas and work in close collaboration with supporting corporate departments in Paris. 00 CAD base, with bonus potential.
