Salary Range $69,760.70 - $79,322.69 per annum Close Date 7/15/2024 Job Type Regular Full Time Temporary End Date Ministry/Organization BC Public Service -> Public Safety & Sol General Ministry Branch / Division Job Summary About the BCLDB: The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores. The LDB is committed to government’s goals of making life better for people in B.C., improving services, and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations. The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale, and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support government’s key priorities of protecting public health and safety, promoting social responsibility, and eliminating the illicit market. Since 2018, the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to 39 locations across the province, providing an educational, safe, and socially responsible outlet for the BC public to engage with non-medical cannabis products. We distribute cannabis to all licensed retail locations across BC and work with licensed producers across Canada to provide a wide product assortment that is centrally distributed. Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments. About this role: The Retail Project Management Analyst manages store set-up projects, medium-term store operations projects and several smaller scope projects with significant internal impact to the business. This role is accountable for defining and controlling all project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and specified quality. A criminal record check is required. Position requirements: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, public administration, operations management, or a related field and 1 year of recent, related experience*; OR Diploma in project management, business administration, public administration, operations management, or a related field and 2 years of recent, related experience*; OR Certificate or coursework in project management, operations management, or a related field and 3 years recent, related experience*. *Recent related experience must be within the last five (5) years and include the following: Experience leading multiple projects or leading a component (i.e., sub-project) of a major project. Experience managing relationships and communications with senior level stakeholders. Experience in directing the work for contracted and staff resources. Preferred qualifications include: Experience leading and coordinating projects in a large, distributed retail operations environment. Projects related to retail store set up, tenant improvement, facilities or construction. Experience working in a government or regulatory environment. Experience working in a unionized environment. Experience in the cannabis industry Formal course work in cannabis from an accredited post-secondary institution.
