Bioinformatics OMICS DATA Integration: Development

Description

AdLab, a bioinformatics laboratory in the Research Center of the CHU de Québec - Université Laval, is deeply involved in data integration, machine learning, deep learning, and the application of large language models to analyze biological big data. Its multidisciplinary team consists of bioinformaticians, data scientists, and biostatisticians working together to push the boundaries of computational biology.

The rapid advancements in 'omics' technologies—such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics—are revolutionizing our understanding of biological mechanisms. These technologies, however, generate vast amounts of heterogeneous data that require sophisticated computational approaches. AdLab is dedicated to developing cutting-edge tools and pipelines to efficiently process and integrate multi-omics data, particularly those obtained from next-generation sequencing platforms, including single-cell and proteomics data. To support this mission, we are seeking a skilled bioinformatician to join our team.

Duties

  1. Develop techniques to process transcriptomics, genomics, and metagenomics data.
  2. Perform various basic bioinformatics analyses.
  3. Perform single-cell analysis and integrate multi-omic datasets.
  4. Create automated, reproducible reports.

Requirements

  1. A master's or PhD degree in bioinformatics or a related field.
  2. A strong commitment to advancing bioinformatics research.
  3. Proven experience in bioinformatics or computational biology.
  4. Proficiency in computer programming and data analysis.
  5. Demonstrated expertise in analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
  6. Experience in developing complex analytical workflows.
  7. Competence in high-performance computing.
  8. Experience managing pipelines on supercomputers.
  9. Familiarity with SnakeMake.
  10. Proficiency in Python and R.
