Spectrum Health Care is hiring Full TimeRegistered Nurses (RN) who specialize in palliative careinToronto including Downtown, North Toronto and East York.

Job Description

  • Provide patient-focused, safe, holistic nursing care and work collaboratively with other members of our specialized palliative care team
  • Ensure that nursing care provided to our patients is based on current and best practices to achieve successful outcomes
  • Continually assess, anticipate, identify and respond to new and changing needs of our patients
  • Travel between patients’ homes within a specific geographical region

Qualifications

If you havethese experiences, skills and qualifications, you are likely a good match for our patients:

  • Minimum of two-year nursing experience (Community Nursing experience is ideal, but not required)
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Must have experience working with palliative care patients
  • Fundamentals of palliative care, LEAP and/or CAPSE courses are an asset
  • Ability to work independently in managing your own caseload
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written required (if you can speak additional languages, terrific)
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle with willingness to travel
  • Excellent patient assessment and teaching skills
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Physical ability to perform your day-to-day duties
  • Basic proficiency in Word, Excel and ability to learn software
