Summary

Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day business of the Region; including the personnel employed, the customers served complete Profit and loss and return on the assets employed. Has responsibility for Region sales, market share and product support. Acts as the executive face of LiftOne to customers in this assigned territory and by extension those customers of LiftOne in its entirety. Additionally, these individuals are accountable for the immediate and on-going disposition of the LiftOne and the CTE strategy throughout the assigned territory. Also, serves the strategic planning process of the division.

Essential Functions

  • Has executive responsibility for region profitability, working capital, and return on assets. Analyze operating results of the region relative to goals and ensure steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Meet with customers whenever needed to promote value-creating solutions and to resolve problems. Maintain contact with major customers within region.
  • Work with the branch managers and region sales manager to measure, and manage the effectiveness of the equipment sales and PSSR sales teams.
  • Communicate and ensure the vision, mission, values, goals and critical success factors are understood and followed across the region to all employees.
  • Develop the skills of the region management team to ensure their professional growth, customer service, and leadership skills are in accord with the LiftOne/CTE culture.
  • Play a leading role definition of corporate strategy as part of the Senior Management Group. Define the visions, strategies and priorities for areas of responsibility that facilitate achievement of growth, profitability and market share objectives. Provides strategic direction, market analysis, business planning and operational oversight to the region management team. Defines key business drivers and metrics and provides necessary resources. Initiates and drives actions and changes in concert with strategy, priorities, and region goals.
  • Develop and administer accurate annual and longer-range budget/forecast plans with the sales department and branches.
  • Build supportive relationships with all departmental and regional managers. Help them with information, advice, support, perspective and analysis.
  • Partner with VP of Marketing and Sales to identify competitive data and trends in order to grow region revenues.
  • Partner with VP of Product Support to ensure branches working effectively in all areas of aftermarket activities.
  • Review all machine assets for the purpose of determining utilization, financial return and overall performance. Responsible for overall sales and rental department asset decisions.
  • Define parameters and implement procedures to enhance and maximize the long term profitability of machinery transactions.
  • Provide executive management for the branch operations, including people, resources and assets.
  • Manage machinery inventories along with the VP of Marketing and Sales and the Used and Rental Asset Manager within defined parameters to maximize return on investment.
  • Maintain excellent relationships and reputation with Hyster, Yale, Rail King, Ottawa, Auto Car and other manufacturers we represent. Has especially strong relationships with the Presidents of Hyster and Yale and their regional representatives, National Account Managers and neighboring dealers.
  • Provide leadership and expertise for continuous improvement of key functions to best in class levels in the areas of efficiency, quality, profitability and responsiveness. Understands and effectively employs Change Management, 6 sigma-like solution processes, lean and similar process improvement tools and techniques in daily work and inculcates same within areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure all safety programs, internal audit standards, organizational processes, company policies, etc., are adhered to across the region.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor Degree, preferably in business and/or marketing; advanced education a plus.
  • 15 years minimum of industry experience.
  • Preferred industry council involvement.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the general business issues, i.e.: inventory, asset management, ROI, financial statement analysis.
  • Experienced at managing high dollar capital assets, understands inventory management, leasing, productivity, residual value, factory floor planning, utilization, financing and turnover; established track record in dealing with six figure assets.

Computer Skills

Technologically current- understands and utilizes current technology, strong computing skills, skilled in the Microsoft suite of business software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be able to meet company requirements for auto insurance coverage

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
