Job Description

Scope for the position: Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for the management of Outside Account Managers in the Ontario & Atlantic territory. This position also implements strategic plans for key accounts and ensures that they are executed by the Outside Account Managers. Additionally, this position is responsible to meet and exceed department objectives.             Basic function of the position: The responsibility of this role includes mentoring the team, customer relationship management, contract negotiation, strategic business, and marketing planning along with data analysis to determine and ensure targets are met. The RSM will foster a team selling environment working with and reporting regularly to multiple internal and external stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, hire, train and lead the team of Outside Account Managers to achieve and/or surpass yearly targets for the specific region.Helps to deliver on our Puresource promise of Unmatched Customer Experience in Everything That We Do!A subject matter expert in the Ontario/Atlantic regions as to bring new opportunities/leads to the attention of managementProvide input and implement the strategic plan that can be clearly measured and executed for all Key Accounts assigned. Also, suggest process improvements on existing programs to maximize growth for assigned accounts and territory Prepare, present and lead customer focused presentations that highlight opportunities and action plans for customers’ business.Effectively negotiates with customers to achieve mutual business objectivesDevelops, in collaboration with customers, promotional plans to customers specifications to further grow/enhance the relationship while keeping within set budget. Monitors and communicates customer business plans' results for assigned accounts as needed/requestedEstablishes and maintains strong relationships with distributed third party brands and brokers Plans and executes product training with customers for NOW and Private Brands with support of NOW’s educatorUses strong communication skills to provide accurate and detailed information to key stakeholders, both internally and externallyMaintains all projects and presentations and monitors to ensure times are being met by all stakeholders.Develops strong brand and product knowledge: marketing positioning, value and target consumer to brands as well as customersEffectively able to forecast customers period sales and outline key drivers/opportunities for profit or topline gains and lossesMaintain competitive and industry knowledge base of product and service offerings and provide strategic recommendationsAttends and represents Puresource in customer meetings and trade functionsBe a leader, foster teamwork within the organizationResponsible for any other administrative duties as required Complete administrative duties such as deal sheets, price increase files, tracking reports, deductions, credits and returns as applicableStay within assigned budget for any and all customer budgets as well as business travel and expenses             Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, and certifications:Post-secondary education in Business, marketing or relevant discipline, or equivalent market experienceMinimum 5 years field sales experience in a comparable capacityMinimum of 3 years account management experience calling on major retail chains in grocery, mass and health food storesMinimum 2 years in a sales management roleExperience within the natural products industry an assetAbility to manage projects involving cross functional teamsSuperior communication and presentation skills Solid technology skills in the Microsoft applications including PowerPoint and ExcelMust own a reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstractMust have a valid passport as some travel in the USA may be requiredA good understanding of Natural Products Industry A valid driver’s license and in possession of own vehicleMust be available for conferences and tradeshows (approximately 3 per year) Please be advised that this role will require frequent travel throughout Ontario, primarily the GTA, and some travel to the Atlantic provinces.This role is primarily remote, with the ability to come into the Guelph office when required. Driven with a desire to succeed, detail oriented and high standard of ethicsHigh strategic competence, exceptional attention to detailResults orientedStrong collaboration skillsProactive in supporting and ensuring customer achieves their goals Can comfortably communicate to all levels of the organizationCuriosity to learn, and flexibility requiredExcellent business acumenProfessional and diplomatic in dealing with all stakeholders, internally and externally
