Job Description

The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for the management and development of the Nature’s Path Brands in the Mass & Emerging + Dollar Channels within the Canadian grocery business. (Including C&G and white space opportunities). This includes a network of broker retail coverage, distributors and/or direct retail accounts to build revenues and increase market share profitably. This role will be remote but based in the GTA, with a strong preference for someone who has worked with Walmart.Achievement of pre-determined Sales and Spend Budget by:Developing customer relationships in a national market to penetrate buyers, category and marketing teams within each account for long term collaborative relationship with Nature’s PathLeading the development of the annual budget and trade spend strategy for key accountsProactively identifying gaps or opportunities on a periodic basis and reports any risk or upside to the channel Director, with specific action plans to addressManaging monthly, quarterly or bi-annual meetings with each customer to review the state of the business, present new items, conduct line reviews and customized promotional calendars for each accountDeveloping a business plan and sales strategy for a specific channel + whitespace to ensure attainment of company sales goals and objectivesProviding excellent merchandising and category recommendations to support sales growthAssisting in the development and implementation of marketing plans as neededCreating and understanding promotional budgets and activities for the region by the distributor and/or accountAssisting customers in resolution of complaints to facilitate the continuation of re-orders for the Company’s productsNegotiating and implementing cost increasesProviding Replenishment Management support to a cross section of key strategic customers within the grocery channel by:Establishing a partnership and credibility with external replenishment teams, conducting bi-weekly meetings and understanding key metrics for success by retailerLiaising with internal Cross Functional Partners (Supply Chain, Inside Sales and Logistics) to ensure key metrics such as fill rate and OTIF (on time and in full) are achievedManaging trade spend and forecasting using spend management system:Experience in building and managing Profit & Loss (P&L) statementsInputting forecasted base and incremental sales volume by SKU for direct accountsMaintaining annual sales volumes monthly, adhering to required progress reportsManaging trade spend through spend management system and following-up with retailer to hold accountableAuthorizing and closing off trade spend invoices from customersProviding solutions to trade spend strategies within direct customer baseAchievement of broker and distributor management by:Leading the strategic priorities for our broker support businesses-budget, trade and promotional activityWeekly communication of sales versus budget (period, quarter and year end estimates)Setting promotional planners and goals for each of the assigned distributorsSetting sales and spend goals for each broker networkReviewing these goals quarterly along with setting additional goalsFacilitating and ensuring broker responsibilities are understood, performance measurement objectives are identified, reviewed, and monitored on an on-going basis to provide feedback on accomplishments and immediate action is taken to remedy shortfallsA commendable reputation of Nature’s Path in the business community and public by:Respectfully and capably representing the best interests of Nature’s Path in all internal and external dealingsRequiring professionalism with customers and instilling Nature’s Path valuesMaintaining contact with all customers in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfactionIdentifying gaps in processes or external issues impacting key metrics and implement solutions for prompt resolutionExperience At least 5 years’ experience in sales in the Conventional Grocery Trade or equivalent experienceExperience in grocery channel, managing brokers, as well as distributorsProven track record in a retail environmentDemonstrated ability working with key software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Power Point Word and Retail Link experience would be considered an assetThis opportunity pays between $102,500 - $153,750 depending on experience and offers a 20% bonus.
