Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:

As Raw Materials Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for driving supply chain operational excellence within our raw materials supplier base. You will work closely with our Raw Materials Supply Planning team and grow the capabilities of our Supply Chain team, with the focus of building a resilient Tier 2 supply chain for our apparel, equipment, and footwear product. You will own relationships with our raw materials suppliers, driving strategic sourcing projects and providing insight and recommend sustainable sourcing strategies to continuously improve speed, optimize cost, and best utilize supply chain capability and efficiencies.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Raw Materials Sourcing team is part of the Raw Materials organization and includes the Raw Materials Supply Planning team. The team partners closely with finished goods Sourcing and Supply Planning, as well as our new Asia Liaison Office teams to grow our business and create a world class supply chain. Your priority is to ensure that our Tier 2 supply chain can deliver on all seasonal commercialization requirements, while anticipating the future needs of the business.

If you were in the Raw Materials Sourcing Specialist role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
  • Collaborating with RM Supply Planners, RM Developers, and Quality partners to manage the supply chain and new business requests
  • Partnering closely with Product and Merchandising leadership to develop the costing and negotiation strategy required to hit margin targets
  • Assisting with data management and communication between all Supply Chain partners, including ALO staff
  • Supporting strategic projects with Raw Materials teams and cross functional partners while providing regular updates on progress
  • Collaborating with sourcing partners at AMER and ANTA Sports to find process efficiencies, cost savings and sustainability best practices for the brand and the wider group
  • Contributing to the management of excess raw materials, projecting write off liability, and formulating recommendations for minimizing ERM cost and environmental impacts
  • Representing the wider supply chain organization, working closely with cross functional partners to support process timeline and discipline
  • Supporting raw materials supply chain feedback particularly but not exclusively for Supply Review and other key Commercialization gates
  • Applying and assisting with KPIs to measure the raw materials source base performance, reporting on these as required, and conducting thorough trend analysis to address root causes of any issues
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
  • Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually)
  • Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
  • Managing T2 supply initiatives, including supplier sourcing and onboarding, and collaborating with Raw Materials Development and upstream commercialization partners
  • Ensuring T2 supply base alignment with the organization’s Strategic Business Plans (SBP) and growth requirements in terms of capacity, service and capability, quality and overall performance
  • Supporting negotiation and design of supplier agreements, including but not limited to purchasing, quality, and compliance
  • Collaborating with the Director, Raw Materials Sourcing in the creation of raw materials sourcing strategy and supplier management processes
Are you our next Raw Materials Sourcing Specialist?
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant field
  • You have 2+ years of experience in apparel, equipment, or footwear Raw Materials Sourcing or related positions
  • Proficiency in foreign languages is highly advantageous, particularly in Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin Chinese
  • You have excellent communication skills, ability to relate to all levels of stakeholders
  • You have strong leadership, interpersonal, facilitation, and project management experience
  • You have the ability to think both strategically and tactically, ability exert tactful influence
  • You have advanced skills in Excel, and solid systems experience
  • You are numbers and data driven, and comfortable working with and analyzing large datasets.
  • You set clear direction, aligning teams and fostering commitments to objectives
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions

$80,000 - $100,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$80,000 - CAD$100,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
