Job Title Quality Lead Location Toronto, ON CA (Primary) Category Construction Management, Technical Advisory Job Type Full-time Job Responsibilities (Internal Title: Consulting IV)Maintains, assesses, and enhances the Integrated Project Team quality management system and updates the IPT Quality Management Plan annuallyForecast, direct, and execute appropriate means and methods to complete the consulting services on large-size, or high-complexity projects from inception through to completionConverses with the segment leadership team, produces an overall monthly quality dashboard to convey key quality metrics, and recommends quality improvements if requiredMonitor staff performance to ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlinesConducts a quality review of all IPT plans and procedures at the time of renewalProvides leadership and support to the achievement of construction quality field delivery in keeping with Client established goals, standards, processes, and procedures. Where necessary, liaises with the Quality Manager to develop processes and procedures and lead training and coaching as required for consistent complianceDrives successful outcomes on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for specified Segment, which may be modified each year as the project evolvesUnderstands specifications related to construction materials, equipment, installation processes, finishes, testing and handoverFluent in the use of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) as the controlling document for quality of the finished works or systemsProvides direction and support to the deployed IPT construction quality personnel so that they are equipped to hold the Contractors accountable for following their construction processes, specifications, and ITPsParticipates in / supports audits of the contractors’ quality and construction processes Champions standardizing construction quality, in compliance with contract quality requirementsManage and support the negotiation of scope changesOversee the internal quality control checks and participate in quality issue resolutionCoordinates with Project Field Services, Engineer Specialist on standardization of approach to construction activities and the implementation of the construction quality programDefine success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project and program life cycleRecommend and interpret project and program expectations Delegate and manage deliverables with team members and stakeholdersComplete any tasks assigned by the Supervisor or higher in an efficient and timely mannerWorking Conditions Office-based Qualifications Required Experience:Minimum of 12 years of experience in Consulting in area of specialtyEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Licenses OR Certifications: Holding recognized certification in area of specialtySkills and Competencies:A firm understanding of Engineering and Construction procedures, principles, and concepts. Experience of this understanding in the context of rail project is desireableA working knowlwdge of ISO 9001 and its application in Engineering and Construction projectsAdvanced skills in Microsoft OfficeMust maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practicesAbility to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadershipKeen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilitiesMust have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practicesProven capacity to anticipate, identify, and minimize risks Expert ability to detect, capitalize on, and be sensitive to others strengths Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension Capability to supervise, delegate, and develop capacity Comtech Group Inc. is committed to providing accessible employment practices that comply with local legislative requirements.
