Job Description
Sylvan, Inc. is a market-leading, trusted automotive services contractor to Fortune 500 companies.
The Quality inspector will be responsible for inspecting work assigned to various manufacturing facilities. Reporting inspection results to Sylvan’s Project Managers and Sylvan’s Quality Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Schedule and perform inspections at sub-fabricators facilities.
Assure fabrications are made to engineered drawings.
Assure fabricated assemblies are completed to Sylvans current conveyor manufacturing standards.
Inspect welds for quality, size and proper location per engineered drawings.
Verify delivery schedules are met.
Travel, Southeast Michigan, Ontario and other locations as required.
Work with sub-fabricators and engineers to resolve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Must have good driving record.
Report inspection results to Quality Manager, and Project manager.
Quality Inspector reports directly to the Sylvan Quality Manager.
Education Requirements
Vocational training certificate or College degree.
Experience
Knowledge of AWS D1.1
Read and interpret engineered drawings.
Machine building/assembly experience.
Understanding tolerances.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, positive “can-do” attitude.
