With the Canadian head office in Nisku, Alberta the company supports routine maintenance, turnarounds, and industrial capital projects by providing services including scaffolding and work access, insulation, fireproofing, and asbestos abatement, for general maintenance, construction, turnarounds, and shutdowns to western Canadian producers. SUMMARY: A Quality Control Manager is defined as a person possessing a minimum of ten (10) years’ as a technical expert in the application of industrial soft craft services such as Scaffolding, Coatings, Insulation, Fireproofing, Lead and Asbestos Abatement. The QC Manager shall receive his directives from the Business Operations Manager. Their responsibilities shall be to assist with the execution of QC systems and processes for their project; shall be fully responsible for providing hands-on support with key quality issues; shall also be responsible to ensure that planning and documentation for quality is performed as required for their project. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ticketed Journeyman with 10+ years of experience in their field. 5+ years direct supervision, inspecting and QC experience. Posses advanced troubleshooting and communication skills to solve complex problems. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for the protecting of people, data, property, and institutions. Possesses great time management skills Ability to work for 8+ hours at a time in an environment where temperatures may reach from 0 to 60 ° C, both indoors and outdoors in the sun. Work in an environment in which vibrations and noise are moderate to severe and noise level may require the wearing of hearing protection devices. Work in confined spaces for 4-7 hours per day; stand or walk for long periods. Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding at extreme heights. Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Maintain footing on surfaces which are sometimes slippery. See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors. Hear well (naturally or with hearing aid). Ability to excel in a fast pace and diverse environment ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervise QC Leads. Ensures that work is performed in accordance with Contractor Specifications and/or as directed by the Contractor’s Representative. Performs Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) (including inspection and documentation) of the work throughout all phases of the project. Keeps up-to-date, accurate QC/work reports, and ensuring that reports are properly reported per the Contractor Specifications. Examines and inspects work progress to verify that specifications are met. Reads specifications, such as blueprints and data, to determine construction requirements. Records information on specified forms and reports. Audit compliance to key quality processes and procedures. Collect and report key continuous improvement initiatives within the project. Be the point of contact for all third party, customer, and audit authorities involved with the compliance and/or auditing of Brock’s QA/QC programs. Assist in the development of work execution practices and procedures related to the all Brock services including scaffolding, insulation, fireproofing, asbestos abatement, blasting & coating, etc. Assist with the management of Brock Canada’s ISO 9001 QA Certification. Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Design -- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Coordination -- Adjusting actions in relation to others actions. Management of Personnel Resources -- Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
