Job Description

One of our food processing clients is looking for Quality Assurance Supervisor at Brantford, ON location for their facility.

Shift - Days/Night

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Supervise the Quality Assurance system at the plant to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements from corporate, CFIA/Canada, and FDA/USA, as applicable to customers.
  • Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to identify deviations from quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including test results, inspection reports, and corrective actions taken.
  • Generate and update quality documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and specifications.
  • Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and food safety principles.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality and safety of incoming raw materials and ingredients.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Stay updated on relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address root causes of quality issues and prevent their recurrence.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of previous QA supervisory experience and proven ability to manage a high performing team.
  • Previous experience in quality assurance or quality control roles in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and documenting quality data.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
