Quality Assurance Supervisor at
Brantford, ON location for their facility.
Shift - Days/Night
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Supervise the Quality Assurance system at the plant to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements from corporate, CFIA/Canada, and FDA/USA, as applicable to customers.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to identify deviations from quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including test results, inspection reports, and corrective actions taken.
- Generate and update quality documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and specifications.
- Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and food safety principles.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality and safety of incoming raw materials and ingredients.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Stay updated on relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address root causes of quality issues and prevent their recurrence.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of previous QA supervisory experience and proven ability to manage a high performing team.
- Previous experience in quality assurance or quality control roles in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and documenting quality data.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
