Role Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, directing and controlling the Quality Assurance System to ensure that all quality activities are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. The primary task of this role will be to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, procedures and work rules to support and maintain an AS9100 compliant Quality Management System (QMS).Roles and ResponsibilitiesInterface with production, engineering and suppliers to ensure that requirements are met and correctly documentedFormulate organizational policies and procedures to ensure proper management and efficient activities within organization in accordance with AS9100, ISO9001-2008, and CARs 561requirementsLead process improvement planning in a team based environmentOversee and direct process quality audits and internal audits of the QMSEstablish control, distribution and preservation of manuals, procedures and quality recordsConduct assessments and propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures in area such as operations, human resources, records management and communicationsDevelop and maintain training program. Retain the records associated with the quality programMonitor incoming material quality and work with suppliers to improve as-received quality level. Establish vendor auditing process to mitigate escapesProvide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as requiredOversee and improve MRB process. Drive timely root cause analysis and implementation of preventive corrective actions for quality issuesReview quality document changes (e.g. ECNs, procedures, work instructions). Drive effective qualification of product and process changes to ensure a high level of quality.Communicate all findings and results from the quality program to the Vice President/PresidentOther duties that may be assignedQualifications and Education Requirements5 - 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.Completion of college or university program in Engineering and Business Administration.Proven experience in quantitative data analysis, measurement systems, reporting methodologies, and MRB processes.Ability to review, understand and interpret technical drawings, documentation and specifications in accordance with aerospace industryExtensive knowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 an assetAbility to work under pressure in a busy and complex environment with minimal supervisionKnowledge of business systems including ERP and Microsoft OfficeSalary Range: $60-70k
