Here’s what you will do as our Quality Assurance Coordinator:

TheQuality Assurance Coordinator will play an instrumental role in establishing Quality Assurance processes and procedures from a people, process & technology perspective. Reporting to the QA Manager and leading a team of two QA Technicians, the QA Coordinator will be responsible for food safety and legality issues. TheQuality Assurance Coordinator will:

  • Substitute SQF Practitioner and conduct SQF audits with QA Manager;

  • Perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including manufacturing and Quality Assurance;

  • Check and maintain the integrity of MRP system processes and data post implementation;

  • Identify areas for improvement and work closely with production and QA teams on continuous improvement initiatives;

  • Be a member of the Food Safety Team, responsible to maintain and update SQF and HACCP Programs, train employees on Food Safety Regulations and have the authority to initiate recall and corrective action in case of food safety deviation;

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to GMP, SOP and SSOP, and work with production to correct identified deficiencies;

  • Perform environmental swabbing as per schedule; record and interpret the testing results;

  • Work with outside lab for sample submissions, shelf-life programs, and environmental testing (water and air); maintain regular submissions for continuous sample testing of raw materials;

  • Monitor production floor activities including verification of CCP’s and other in-process documentation to ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF SOPs and GMPs;

  • Manage self-inspection programs to maintain facility compliance as well as conduct routine quality line checks;

  • Maintain control and monitoring of hold product until final disposition clearance;

  • Maintain labelling program, label creation and log maintenance;

  • Perform pre-operational and in process audit of facility; issue report and follow-up with Operations team as required; implement corrective action as needed;

  • Retrieve samples for micro analysis using aseptic techniques;

  • Be a member of Health and Safety Team;

  • Manage the sanitation program;

  • Perform other QA/QC functions as directed.

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

  • University or College Degree in Applied Science, Food Science or Manufacturing;

  • SQF Practitioner certificate; HACCP certificate;

  • Experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control at a food manufacturing facility;

  • Team Lead experience preferred;

  • Proficient in MS Office suite;

  • Strong aptitude for organizing personal tasks and repetitive duties in a dynamic environment;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as cross-functional teams;

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures;

  • Mathematical and problem-solving skills;

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
