The Post Trade Risk Management team’s mandate is to ensure all required procedures, models, systems, reporting and governance are in place so that CDS and CDCC financial risks are managed according to TMX risk appetite and policy. The risk exposure types managed by the Post Trade Risk Team include credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, model risk and operational risk. To carry out its mandate, the Risk Team employs sophisticated financial risk models, validation frameworks, risk measurement and reporting systems. The Risk Team collaborates with many internal and external stakeholders including CDS Participants and CDCC Clearing Members, Federal and Provincial Regulators and our TMX Group partners.  Since CDS and CDCC were designated as systemically important by the Bank of Canada in 2012, the Post Trade risk management team’s role is to ensure the integrity and stability of the markets that it supports. It further takes the necessary actions to help ensure that the Canadian financial markets meet the G20 commitments. Reporting to the Director - Financial Risk Management, the Risk Quality Analyst is an integral member of the Risk Quality Team. You will work directly with the Risk Quality Testing Lead, and will be responsible for testing risk management systems and risk management applications to ensure proper functionality and efficiency while adhering to defined risk project timelines. Key accountabilities The Quality Analyst role includes the following functions related to project initiative and risk activities: Collaborates with Post Trade Risk team members to understand and to challenge the requirements, design, and the testing cycle on initiatives related to market, credit and liquidity risks. Take an active role in all testing phases. Participates in the creation of test cases related to financial risk management tools Performs quality controls on new applications by performing functional and unit tests. Participate in defect triage. Report testing progress and defect metrics. Review and provide feedback on high-level automation requirements, business requirements, and testing documents. Support ‘Go-Live’ planning and execution with key risk management collaborators. Must haves Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics 1-2 years of experience in the financial industry, preferably with a focus on projects and quality assurance Some programming experience in MATLAB or other programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R) Excellent MS office suite and/or Google office applications skills Excellent software/system skills Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills Excellent interpersonal skills and great teammate Excellent organization skills and ability to manage priorities Good communication skills both written and verbal Capability to develop strong relationships with the Risk Management team and other business divisions Self-confidence, positive attitude, pragmatism Good presentation and oral / written communication skills Nice to haves Working towards FRM (Financial Risk Manager from GARP) or/and PRM (Professional Risk Manager from PRMIA) Enrolment in CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) program This role can be based out of Montreal or Toronto In the market for… Excitement - Explore emerging technology and innovation, as well as ventures and digital finance that shape the future of global markets!
