We are looking for a Prototyping Design Engineer.

Reporting to the Prototyping Manager, you will be an indispensable asset to the Prototyping team and will have the opportunity to use your talent to develop the energy of the future.

Your role :

  • Coordinate and implement prototyping projects. These R&D projects are aimed at adapting and scaling up the advances made by the electrochemistry teams (cathode, anode and electrolyte) and evaluating new materials or promising technologies in the all-solid battery.
  • Take ownership of project schedules, communication with external partners or internal teams, and organize test execution.
  • Supervise a team of technicians and engineers in the coordination of their work, training, interpretation and in-depth analysis of their results
  • Take part technically in the manufacture and assembly of the various components (films, connectors, packaging), as well as in the evaluation of physico-chemical and electrochemical performance.
  • Get to grips with new production and assembly tools and determine the parameters for optimizing battery performance and assembly.
  • Participate in the selection and purchasing process for prototyping equipment.
  • Work with the team to draw up rigorous methodologies to guide technicians in the various departments.
  • Report on project progress in the form of test reports, summarizing and communicating highlights to the various project participants and to line management.
  • Participate in research and development activities for the all-solid-state battery and make proposals on study topics that may be cross-functional or multi-site.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Hold a PhD in materials science, electrochemistry, chemistry, mechanics or at least an undergraduate degree in electrochemical or chemical engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in product development and/or prototyping, and experience in team supervision
  • Experience as a project manager
  • Technical experience in electrochemical phenomena and extrusion and coating processes (an asset)
  • Ability to communicate in French and English, both orally and in writing
