Nice to have:Work-related experience in the real estate or property assessment fieldA certification (or working towards one) with the IMA, AIC, IAAO or RICS or similar industry associationA post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Real Property Valuation, Geography, Urban Studies, Economics, Commerce, Architecture, Construction, Civil Engineering, etc.What you will do:Collect data through onsite property inspections, critical to formulating accurate property assessment valuesThis position requires travel up to 50 percent of the time to conduct field inspections within an assigned geographic areaUpdate and retrieve data from various MPAC systems and databasesCommunicate with property owners, tax agents, occupants, tenants, builders, and municipalities across a variety of communication channels such as telephone, in person and emailVisit new construction sites and review builder plansInteract daily with Property Valuation Analysts and Specialists on your team, who rely heavily on the data you collect and update for decision-makingFrequent travel will be requiredThe successful incumbent will be based out of one of the following MPAC Offices: Fort Frances, Kenora or Thunder BayPrimarily supporting the Kenora District and Rainy River DistrictPlease note that MPAC prohibits employees from holding a current/valid real estate license and successful applicants must at least suspend their real estate licenses during their period of employment at MPAC as outlined in our Employee Code of Conduct.Additional Information:Requisition ID: 1920Job Type: UnionReady to apply?Please note, only applications submitted through the Applicant Tracking System will be accepted.Successful candidates will be required to undergo a background verification with Mintz Global Screening.
