The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of transit/rail design experience. The Transit Group is involved on projects which include all types and sizes of Transit infrastructure including: new and redeveloped Transit Stations and related rail corridor improvements, parking lot expansions, environmental assessments, large scale Design-Build opportunities and others as required. Consideration will also be given for Project Managers with multi-discipline experience on other municipal infrastructure projects.As a member of our Transit team, you will work collaboratively with other Project Managers and Engineers under the direction of the Transit Manager on a variety of transit related projects including commuter or passenger rail system elements and rail, city infrastructure and roadways.Preferred Candidate Profile+A diverse civil engineering background managing transit related projectsMinimum 10 years of experience working on transit and rail related projectsDemonstrated project management and consulting expertiseStrong client management and facilitation skillsThe RoleThe position will involve carrying out the following tasks:Project and client management services relating primarily to transit related public sector projects.Proposal preparation and coordination.Preparation and tracking of project budgets and schedules.Facilitating approvals from commenting agencies.Business development and ability to foster long-term client relationships.Lead multi-discipline teams to complete transit related design packages.Directing / coordinating the preparation of design drawings and documents for transit facility and infrastructure projects.Collecting, monitoring and evaluating design submissions, cost estimates, and construction schedules from contractors, public agencies, utility companies, and designer.Ensuring continuity of projects through design, tender and construction phases.Ability to mentor and further develop junior and intermediate professionals.Professional Knowledge & QualificationsThe following qualifications, experience and skills are required:Good multi-disciplinary knowledge of transit related infrastructure with ability to provide a strategic overview of projects.Technical knowledge of light, commuter, or passenger rail facilities, including knowledge in the interactions of rail, municipal infrastructure and roadways.BRT design and operations experience is considered an asset.Experience overseeing and coordinating sub-consultants, procurement, design, construction and commissioning.Strong Client and Stakeholder relation skills.Eng for more than five (5) years.Professional experience related to the full range of infrastructure delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design Build (DB), Advanced Public Private Partnerships (P3) and Alternative Finance and Procurement (AFP) models;Interest in supporting initiatives associated with Excellent documentation, proposal and report writing skillsWhy Choose Burnside?Are you interested in working for an employer with a 5-decade track record of building a great reputation both internally with their staff and externally with their clients?
