Our client is a leading financial services company based in Vancouver that is embarking on a significant software modernization initiative. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Scrum Master to join their Enterprise Delivery team to lead this transformative multi-year project.Job Overview:The Project Manager / Scrum Master will be responsible for leading and managing the software modernization initiative, ensuring its successful delivery in alignment with strategic business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of both traditional project management and Agile Scrum methodologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive change within a complex organizational environment. Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership:Lead the software modernization initiative from inception through delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.Establish and maintain effective project governance structures.Scrum Master Responsibilities:Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.Mentor and coach team members on Agile principles and practices.Remove obstacles and ensure the team has the resources needed to meet their sprint goals.Stakeholder Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for project objectives and deliverables.Team Coordination:Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation.Foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence.Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that impede team progress.Risk and Issue Management:Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies as necessary.Ensure timely resolution of issues and effective communication of risks to stakeholders.Project Delivery Improvement:Drive improvements in project delivery methodologies and processes.Implement best practices for project management and Agile Scrum, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the Enterprise Portfolio team.Measure and report on project performance, using data to inform continuous improvement efforts.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and Scrum Master roles, with a proven track record of leading complex software development projects. Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.Skills:Strong knowledge of project management and Agile Scrum methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Experience and familiarity with Temenos Banking Solutions (or similar products) is a must have.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
