Agilus is recruiting for a Project Manager in the chemical manufacturing industry in Brantford, Ontario.The Project Manager will be responsible for the development, tracking and execution of detailed project plans for achieving successful implementation of continuous improvement changes. The role will also be tasked with tracking the budget and scheduling performance of capital projects and communicating the status to key stakeholders. This position will also support the Director in leading key projects and providing coaching and direction to junior engineering team and operations.The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects in the range of $15 million and would have experience in plant expansion / growth projects. This position also requires a solid understanding of the chemical industry.A typical day:Project management - utilizing project tools, systems, methodologies and software to lead, plan, manage and execute post-launch changes and projects.Complete and lead projects - elements of design, development, manufacturing, construction, installation, operation, and maintenance, providing direction to both internal and external resources as required.Developing proposals and scope of work preparation, budgeting, invoicing, scheduling, etc.Delivering assigned projects to meet project delivery goals including safety, scope, quality, cost and schedule within project controls.Selection and design of equipment, piping, instrumentation, and motor controls on capex projectsExplain and present complex information in a straightforward manner, by developing and delivering communications materials for internal stakeholders and vendor partners.Successful candidates will have:University degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering10 + years’ experience as Project Management / Project Engineering in chemical manufacturing is required, with proven track record of leading key projectsExperience in all project phases (Definition, Design, Procurement, Construction, and Start- Up) is required.Experience managing projects in the range of $15 million and would have experience in plant expansion / growth projects.Excellent project management and leadership skillsMust have strong communication skillsCandidates must be eligible to work in Canada and business travel to USA may be requiredPMP / PMI certification as well as a P.Eng designation (or in the process)Total rewards:Competitive wagesEmployer paid benefitsCareer growth and advancement opportunities
