Job Description

Large general contractor seeking experienced Project Manager to work on a large industrial project ($200m +). Ideal candidate will have strong local experience across civil, infrastructure and buildings projects. Only candidates with authorisation to work in Canada will be considered. Only exceptional international candidates will be considered for sponsorship. The candidate will be required to work on site in North-West BC. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.

Work hours: Given this is a project-based role, it will be on a rotation basis with a 14/7 rotation
Start date: Immediate

The Project Manager role

Provides overall management direction for existing projects and develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, geographical area or type of project. The Project Manager will oversee operations of projects assigned to him/her. This would include, but is not limited to, profitability, duty assignment, safety, budgets, scheduling and communication.

Requirements for Project Manager

  • Minimum 10 years’ related construction experience across large ($200m +) civil and infrastructure projects. Structures experience also a strong asset.
  • Developing successful relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors and developers
  • Effectively managing and directing your team through enthusiasm and zest for the project
  • Sharing your knowledge by mentoring some of the intermediate Project Managers and Coordinators, guiding them to progress in their careers.
  • The Project Manager will have experience with construction management and design/build formats.
  • Familiarity with computerized project management systems including scheduling, estimating, planning and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to efficiently handle and administer multiple tasks on concurrently running projects.
  • Skilled, loyal and entrepreneurial.
  • Post-secondary Degree in engineering or the equivalent of a designated Professional Engineer or a Technical School graduate in a construction-related discipline.
  • Only candidates with authorisation to work in Canada will be considered.

Compensation

  • Dependent on experience and education. The client is a progressive company offering employees a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package and profit-sharing program.
  • Compensation range: $160k to $240k depending on relevant experience.
