The organization has a broad portfolio of projects and a culture built on passion for decarbonization and teamwork – what a combination!THE OPPORTUNITYThe Project Manager will be a key member of the Development team, responsible for managing the execution of Enwave’s capital projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget and on spec, and supporting the development of new projects across the organization through the provision of constructability, budgeting, and execution expertise. We are seeking a hardworking individual who is passionate about decarbonization and has a desire to play an active role in the transition to clean energy.The Project Manager is accountable to deliver projects both to existing and new Enwave customers, Enwave Operations and to be involved in new plant and expansion opportunities. The Project Manager leads, organizes and manages a wide range of project types, including central plant construction, upgrades and expansions, distribution infrastructure, distributed plant and geoexchange system construction, new customer connections, and system efficiency and maintenance projects.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork with cross-functional teams within Enwave, including the engineering, operations, commercial and financial teams to develop and execute on capital projects and identify and manage construction project riskOversee construction activities and proactively mitigate day-to-day issues, ensuring that construction is safely accomplished in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines, project contracts, guidelines and specifications, environmental requirements, permitting and industry best practicesMaintain excellent working relationships and coordinate work with clients, approval agencies, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants and other external and internal stakeholders as required to ensure that construction work is completed to the satisfaction of all stakeholdersEnsure proper commissioning and handover of projects to Enwave’s Operations team to successfully bring new assets, facilities and customers onlineAdminister and manage various types of construction contracts to ensure that projects are executed according to requirements and ensure that projects are closed out appropriately, including reviewing work for deficiencies, sign off of work and compiling handover documentsManage and report on project costs and budgets, including accruals, updating project forecasts and trackers, and reviewing and approving invoicesManage and report on project schedules, including milestone and critical path trackingComplete regular project reporting, including schedule, budget and risk updates, for various internal and external stakeholdersSecure required permits for execution of projectsCoordinate procurement processes, including RFQs and tenders, negotiate pricing, and work with internal stakeholders to issue AFEs, purchase orders, contract documents, and change orders in accordance with internal processesParticipate in Public Utilities Coordinating Committees and support Enwave locate programs as requiredCreate, organize and maintain project files including, databases, reports, correspondence, site documentation and related materialsSupport upfront project development activities, including preparation of project capital budgets, concepting activities, design and constructability feedback, development of business cases/internal approvals and procurement plans, and risk identification/managementSupport Enwave technical teams, including operations and engineering, in emergency response activitiesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE5+ years of related experience in capital project managementPost Secondary degree in technical area of study (e.g., engineering, architectural science, construction management)PMP, LEED AP, or other relevant certification, and previous experience with construction project management software (e.g. CMiC, Jonas, PlanGrid) an asset)Experience in the district energy / thermal energy sector an assetDemonstrated experience with MS Office software applications (Project/Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dynamics 365)Excellent proactivity, organization and time management skills, and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team environment as well as working independently to ensure processing and completion of relevant tasks in a timely and accurate mannerAbility to work in a dynamic environment which requires a high level of flexibility and adaptabilityBENEFITSThis role comes with a comprehensive compensation package that includes a base salary, annual bonus, generous benefits including medical, dental and an RRSP matching program, and a strong commitment to and support for professional development.
