The department is located at the Markham site but the main office for this position will be at the Uxbridge site.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, day shifts. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

Compensation: BAND G. Range: Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Uxbridge Redevelopment, the Project Manager will become a member of the team and share the responsibilities of managing all aspects of the project. You will engage with, inform and support external agencies such as the government (Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Local Health Integration Networks, the Township of Uxbridge, Durham Region etc.) and other funding partners, and negotiate and facilitate consensus with municipal bodies and other regulatory authorities to obtain required approvals. Requirements

College Diploma in construction management, engineering, or project management. Equivalent experience and education will be considered. Minimum 7 years experience managing medium to large scale projects within a multi-site and/or multi-organization context. Experience in healthcare is an asset. Experience planning for major projects including programming, concept development, implementation and construction. Understanding and working knowledge of capital planning strategies, models, and practices required, along with working knowledge of strategies and practices related to the planning, design, construction, and renovations of buildings. Candidate must have demonstrated ability to build consensus and foster teamwork among a variety of stakeholders. Proven abilities to read and interpret architectural drawings and relevant health and safety regulations and building codes Proficient computing skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications, financial reporting software, and facility condition software would be considered an asset. Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project preferred. Sound knowledge of facility management principles with exposure/experience in partnering in construction projects would be an asset. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills required, along with the ability to analyze, negotiate, and solve problems with a continuous improvement mindset in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of institutional construction estimating and procurement practices considered assets and understanding of Alternative Financing and Procurement preferred. Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required. Understanding of internal and external policies and guidelines (e.g. Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, hospital's IPAC requirements etc.)
