Role Overview:

  • As a Project Manager, you will be the go-to person for clients, and work with the team to establish enduring connections. Since the firm are actively growing across multiple regions, and you would be required to contribute to the expansion of the company by developing our internal knowledge systems and mentoring our talented junior engineering staff.
  • The ideal technical consultant would have a broad expertise in building science. This would require you to have an understanding of masonry, windows, curtain walls, waterproofing, sealants, EIFS, site pavements, and various cladding systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead proposal efforts and discover business development opportunities to acquire new projects and clients.
  • Assist in junior staff training and developing technical practice procedures.
  • Conduct inquiries and draft technical studies about parking garages, roofing, building envelopes, leaks, and evaluations of building conditions.
  • Establish specifications and oversee the bidding process.
  • Accelerate projects from the beginning to the end of the planning, specification, and building phases.
  • Assure prompt and correct billing and oversee the project's finances.
  • Regularly seeking ways to improve client satisfaction and establishing enduring client connections through project management.
  • Travel to project locations in Ontario is required. Mileage incurred for work-related travel will be compensated.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in architectural, structural, or civil engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience working as a restoration engineering and building science consultant.
  • Two years or more of experience managing projects at a building science consulting company.
  • Eng. or having the Eng. designation is advantageous but not necessary.
  • This position requires strong oral and written communication abilities, especially in the areas of technical writing and presentation.
  • strong aptitude for organisation.
  • a cooperative approach to addressing issues.
  • While not necessary, prior experience with energy modelling is a plus.
