Leading a team of employees, this position will support multiple locations, manage capital improvements, drive projects to closure within budget and deadline, while ensuring continued compliance with Air Liquide and Regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be the gatekeeper on capital and on MOC's, ensuring those are technically sound, detailed, and of high quality.• Takes complete responsibility of all engineering aspects of a large project • Provides leadership to direct engineering activities and deliver performance excellence; motivates other team members for the same results • Ensure the engineering team is adhering to the ALPC safety standards and the safety in design is not compromised • Develops early project scope and provides engineering deliverables scope to the engineering team • Communicate directly with Client technical representative/s for timely resolution of technical issues • Communicate project objectives to the engineering team and other disciplines • Ensure engineering activities are performed according to the project schedule • Review, monitor and deliver quality engineering deliverables for field construction • Manage the project engineering team to deliver performance excellence by maintaining and improving budgeted man-hours and costs • Ensure the best engineering solutions are evaluated and implemented for project • Publish early and consistent forecasts with plans for corrective actions as necessary • Ensure that scope change identification and timely submittal of DCN is maintained on the project • Ensure that value engineering with cost cutting exercises are carried out and incorporate the pertinent changes • Coordinate closely with other project team members in order that project operations run smoothly and efficiently • Ensure that assigned project has adequate engineering resources and tools/equipment to meet project objectives • Facilitate communication and cooperation among discipline team members, procurement, construction, Project Manager and discipline managers • Ensure technical procedures and methods are being applied to the project, and the team is adhering to the ALPC work processes • May be required to work in the field to support construction activities • Manage engineering of large and complex project • Analyze Lessons Learned in project execution, construction and operations feedback to make the necessary technical changes on the project • Work with the Project manager and the Client to develop clear scope definition including engineering deliverables, scope of services, timeline, etc. • Organize and participate in design reviews and other reviews as required by the client and Project Manager, facilitate close-out of action items • Establish early project schedule, follow through with all engineering disciplines and monitor their progress • Review engineering activities on project and take corrective actions as necessary • Support engineering disciplines on specific issues • Adherence to ALPC work processes on the project • Maintain or improve engineering discipline budgeted man-hours and costs • Manage and identify scope changes, submit timely DCN through Project Controls • Maintain or improve engineering deliverables quality • Provide support to the Construction staff, as needed ___________________Are you a MATCH?10 to 15 years of relevant experience in project management Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Quebec or equivalent Bachelor of Science in Engineering (chemical or mechanical) or Masters degree in project management or MBA 10+ years of operational or engineering experience 8+ years leading and developing an Engineering team or department Our Differences make our PerformanceAt Air Liquide, we are committed to build a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world.We welcome and consider applications from all qualified applicants, regardless of their background.
