Description

Equinox Engineering is a Calgary-based EPCM firm. We are a market leader in oil and gas processing specializing in facilities design, implementation and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional oil, heavy oil and carbon capture projects. Our clients include several of the largest oil and gas producers in Canada and worldwide.

Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) is responsible for the Technical Integrity and Technical Quality of their assigned project(s). The PEM bridges the gap between the Engineering and Design Teams and the Project Management Team and is a steward of engineering and quality with their client. The exact division of tasks on a project should be agreed upon between the PM and PEM, however the key responsibilities to be considered are as follows:

Key Responsibilities

  • Have a clear understanding of Equinox procedures, guidelines, processes, and templates.
  • Have a clear understanding of Client specifications, requirements, procedures and guidelines.
  • Oversea quality control and quality assurance activities and liaise with the quality department.
  • Supervise and support engineering and design teams from a technical viewpoint.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Client.
  • Assist with project kick-off and staff onboarding.
  • Assist in interdisciplinary communication and interface management both internally and with the Client’s technical team.
  • Supports engineering leads and workshare integration engineer for global workshare.
  • Provide high level engineering input to Project Planning, Project Execution Plans, Change Management, Design Change Notices, Schedules.
  • Coordinate and review interdisciplinary technical reports including DBMs, FEED reports, Safety Reports, and close-out reports.
  • Attend and assist in the facilitation of internal model reviews as well as 30%, 60%, 90% reviews.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical reviews, and critical squad checks.
  • Attend and participate in Hazops, PHAs and Risk Sessions.
  • Attend and facilitate Lessons Learned sessions.
  • Verify deliverables by applying the Permit to Practice stamp on project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree with 15+ years technical experience, preferably in EPCM environment.
• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor and train discipline lead personnel.
• Minimum of 5 years technical supervision of multi-discipline teams.
• Registered P.Eng. in appropriate jurisdiction(s).
• Experience in Project Management / Project Engineering roles.
• Experience in managing multiple projects on tight schedules with shared personnel
