Project Design Engineer Technologist Job In Barrie

Our client, a local leading multi-disciplinary consulting engineering and planning services firm, is currently seeking an experienced Project Design Engineer / Technologist immediately on a permanent full-time basis.

You will be joining an innovative and growing team of professionals offering robust answers to the infrastructure demands. This position will provide an opportunity to work on a large variety of Municipal Infrastructure projects with varying municipalities across Southern Ontario and the GTA and to work with diverse internal and external project teams.

This is a hybrid opportunity that can work out of one of several offices they have in Southern Ontario.

Role And Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs for a variety of municipal infrastructure projects and oversee the construction administration associated with new and/or the rehabilitation of arterial roads, collector roads, local roads.
• Prepare design calculations for storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains and stormwater management facilities.
• Prepare cost estimates, contract specifications, tender documents, and applications for approvals.
• Liaise with clients, sub-consultants, contractors and construction supervision staff.
  
  

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a Design Office in Ontario.
• Strong computer software skills including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word, Excel & MS Project.
• Experience in planning, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction administration associated with new and/or the rehabilitation of municipal infrastructure.
• Skilled in cost estimating and specification writing.
• A track record of gaining approval of infrastructure designs from authorities and environmental agencies.
• Independent, organized and motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
