Job Purpose/Summary:

The Project Coordinator works directly with the project managers to ensure the project objectives, policies, and procedures are completed in accordance with company policy and contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The Project Coordinator’s duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reviewing and submitting documents to the General Contractor and ensuring all Dilfo sub-trades have the necessary information, maintaining communication with general contractor, sub-trades and suppliers.
  • Reviewing shop-drawing submissions from suppliers and sub-trades, confirming requirements for equipment, and submitting to General Contractor.
  • Assisting Project Managers with scheduling start-up and training, maintaining job costing, and administration and filing of documents.
  • Completing change orders, following up with suppliers for pricing, obtaining submittals from sub-trades.
  • Maintaining project files (physical and electronic), including shop drawings submittals, RFI’s, site instructions and associated schedule logs.
  • Managing, updating, and maintaining client software (PCL PDC, ProCore, etc.)
  • Preparing close out documentation, including operating and maintenance manuals, as-builts, test reports and commissioning documents.
  • Complying with all company health and safety policies and procedures.

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a team environment
  • Prior experience working with a construction company would be considered an asset

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in the construction field, such as construction management, construction science, mechanical engineering etc. OR a certified mechanical engineering technologist/applied science technologist OR relevant experience as a project coordinator.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand construction documents such as drawings, specifications and equipment shop drawings
  • Understanding construction process and the timing of activities
  • Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of various mechanical systems
  • Ability to review and analyze drawings and submissions from multiple trades
  • Communicates efficiently and effectively
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with many calls on your attention
  • Resilience and ability to keep up to date on details of various simultaneous projects
