Job Description

The Project Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting both the Service Nova Scotia Director's office and the Cellular for Nova Scotia Project Manager at Build Nova Scotia. They will contribute to the successful execution of various cellular infrastructure projects. This position will coordinate the work of four new tower builds; coordinate access at all cellular development sites, assist in developing standard project documentation, resource, cost and performance management. The Project Coordinator will be actively involved in project planning, work coordination, scheduling inspections, cost management and working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Build Nova Scotia may select multiple candidates from this competition pool depending on future project requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project coordination, project management, or related roles.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools. Knowledge of document management systems is advantageous.
  • The incumbent will have strong results/service orientation and possess a high degree of skill in: project/relationship management, verbal and written communications, presentation/consensus-building, facilitation and the ability to establish effective rapport with users/vendors.
Responsibilities

Project Coordination:

1. Coordinating and tracking tendering processes.

2. Supporting municipal public consultation processes.

3. Overseeing contractor work onsite.

4. Coordinating technical resources for installation/commissioning work.

5. Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring and reporting of projects from initiation to completion.

6. Coordinate project activities, resources, and information to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

7. Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, team members, and leadership.

General Support:

1. Access coordination and work scheduling for all sites in the program.

2. Review of contractor documentation (safety, insurance).

3. Coordinating tasks, deliverables, decisions required by PSFC to keep the project moving.

4. Onsite inspection and review of contractor work.

5. Providing site escorts when necessary.

6. Tracking project costs.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

1. Develop and generate regular reports on project progress, key performance indicators (KPIs), and overall program performance.

2. Identify areas for improvement and work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.

Risk Management:

1. Ensure project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

2. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, status reports, and risk assessments.

Other Program Requirements:

3. Transport of vehicles, trailers, and equipment around the province in support of the mobile communications support program.
