Project and Planning Manager The Project and Planning Manager is a unique opportunity to be involved in all corporate projects from initial proposals through to execution. The role is responsible for maintaining a view of all strategic and interdepartmental projects, including enterprise-wide and special initiatives. The successful candidate offers advice, analysis and expertise on a range of programs related to project management, strategy, and decision-making. Collaborating with project managers throughout the organization, the role ensures that project management best practices methodology is followed, and acts as a central advisory point of contact. The successful candidate will seek out opportunities to improve project processes and work with leaders to see the improvements through to implementation.BlueShore Financial is a mid-sized Credit Union in British Columbia, with $7 billion in assets under administration and 390 employees. With over 80 years in the financial services industry, our innovative strategy is rooted in expert advice and expertise, delivered by an exceptional team.This position will provide a flexible hybrid schedule (not fully remote), with approximately one to three days a week in our corporate office in North Vancouver, depending upon internal needs.Key responsibilities of this role are:Project GovernanceProvides guidance and advice to new project managers on preparing concise verbal and written reports. ?Advises the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer on the enterprise-wide and interdepartmental project “funnels” and makes recommendations on resourcing requirements to ensure corporate values are maintained.Manages a wide variety of projects executed by large cross-functional teams.Works with project leaders to address issues that may hinder the success of a project, if required. Ensures project proposals are in line with the approved risk appetite framework.Collaborates with all departments to seek and implement project management process improvements.Stay current on emerging project management trends to continually improve BlueShore’s project management function and service delivery.Ensures that project management documentation requirements are scalable based on the size and complexity of projects.Assists project managers into translating complex project decisions into plain English for reporting purposes.Assist project managers in completing documentation if requested or required.Advocates on behalf of project teams to build consensus when needed.Liaises with project stakeholders though effective and regular communication.Develops and maintains all aspects of the project management site on Compass and FileNet, including updating project management material as required (e.g. Project Proposal template).Assists the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer in preparing quarterly status reports for the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team; assists in the rollout of new templates, if required.Strategic InitiativesAssists in preparation of strategic documents.Prepares documentation and presentations to advise Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and/or the Board of Directors on special projects.Assists departmental colleagues in other related duties.Qualifications and ExperienceUniversity or college degree in related field such as business administrationPMP designation is strongly preferred5-7 years of experience managing projects with demonstrated successRecent experience working in the financial services industry an assetSolid working knowledge of software development release cycles (e.g. Agile development and project management practices)Experience leading process improvement initiativesSolid knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and VisioStrong interpersonal skills and ability to advocate for corporate initiativesStrong negotiation skills and ability to persuade, whilst applying empathy and being open to hearing the opinions of othersSelf-starter with a collaborative and strategic mindsetPay TransparencyPay transparency is an important characteristic of our recruitment process and overall BlueShore culture which supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.The target base salary range of this role is $94,000 - $115,000/year plus a variable performance bonus.
