Skills Accounting DescriptionPosition: Project Accountant Type- Full-time One Year Contract Summary We are seeking a Project Accountant who will assist in the implementation of QuickBooks Online. We are looking for a strong focused candidate, who enjoys challenges of accounting and is comfortable working with small start up organizations. Most of the work is done remotely. This is a one-year project role, full-time. About Us Re-Imagine Ontario (“The Organization” or “RiO”) is a registered charitable organization whose mission is to improve the health, education, and employment of vulnerable individuals, with particular focus on black youth, through community networks, development opportunities, and family supports. The programs we run include both youth and programs for isolated seniors. The Role The Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in the implementation of the \"QuickBooks Integration Launch Project.\" This individual will work closely with the Certified Professional Accountant leading the project, the Human Resources Manager, and the IT Manager to ensure the successful integration of QuickBooks Online and the optimization of financial workflows within the organization. The role is a one-year contract. Responsibilities: Project Implementation and Management: • Assist in conducting an initial assessment of the organization\'s existing accounting processes and manual systems. • Collaborate in developing a tailored implementation plan, outlining specific goals, milestones, and a timeline for transitioning to QuickBooks. • Participate in targeted training sessions focused on QuickBooks usage, digital accounting principles, and best practices. • Aid in migrating existing financial data from manual spreadsheets to QuickBooks and configuring the system to align with the unique needs of the charity. • Collaborate with the project team to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains. • Assist in conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions to validate the accuracy and functionality of the QuickBooks setup. • Support in the incremental rollout of QuickBooks across different functional areas or departments within the organization. • Contribute to establishing post-implementation monitoring mechanisms to track the ongoing performance of QuickBooks and implement incremental improvements based on feedback and evolving organizational needs. Financial Management and Reporting: • Assist in managing and monitoring the project budget to ensure adherence to financial constraints. • Support in generating comprehensive project reports to assess overall project success and participant performance. • Assist in evaluating the impact of the project on the efficiency and accuracy of the charity\'s financial processes, comparing pre-implementation and post-implementation metrics. Qualifications: • Designation as a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) or working towards a CPA designation is preferred. • 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or project management. • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and digital accounting principles. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate with project participants and stakeholders. • Experience in the non-profit sector or with community-based organizations is an asset. • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, adhere to timelines, and work within budget constraints.
