Job Description

In Your Role You Will:

  1. Recruit, screen, hire, and evaluate performance of program managers in compliance with established policies and objectives of the agency and contributions in attaining objectives; take disciplinary action when required.
  2. Monitor the service delivery of staff, professionals, volunteers, and other individuals involved in frontline work to ensure quality of care; coach and mentor managers, lead and participate in team building activities, and provide support to program managers with program operations.
  3. Provide human resource generalist expertise and consultation on complex personnel matters.
  4. Manage complex program and public relations issues.
  5. Attend meetings of the provincial management group.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess:

  1. A degree in one of the humanities, social sciences, or related field with educational preparation for the roles of manager and administrator.
  2. Three to five years in a similar management or human resources generalist position.
  3. Must have specific experience with financial and human resource management.

Other Requirements:

  • Current WCB Occupational First Aid, Level 1, and CPR certificates required.
  • Experience with basic sign language and/or alternative communication strategies training or experience an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract with a reliable, safe vehicle (including appropriate insurance).
  • A physician's note confirming suitability, including a negative tuberculosis screening test.
  • Knowledge of MCFD (Ministry of Children and Family Development), CLBC (Community Living BC), Aboriginal Operational Practice Standards and Indicators, and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
