Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of our client located in Vauxhall. They are an established seed cleaning/pea processing facility. We are looking for one (1) Plant Production Supervisor to join the team.The successful candidate would provide support in all aspects of production in a pulse/processing and/or loading facility. As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, will be an active leader, responsible for demonstrating a commitment to safety, continuous improvement, employee engagement and maintaining a cost-effective operations and equipment’s. This is a key role to build the foundational skills required to be successful. You will report to Chief Operating Officer.Duties/Responsibilities:Day-to-day oversight of plant safety, cleaning, and maintenance.Ensure compliance with the OH&S program, CGC, HACCP, Organic Regime, Seed Institute and CFIA.Operate bagging machines and color sorter at the highest levels of efficiency by focusing on equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness by preventing contamination to minimum levels required to meet client needs.Maintain an injury-free work environment for co-employees, contractors, and visitors.Maintain and develop Seed Treatment business.Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.Plan, organize and execute the maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.Participate in the day-to-day processing activities, receiving loads and loading containers by maximizing weights and volumes as per work orders.Manages logistics and for all commodities and inbound loads delivered to the company.Manage vendors and staff associated with processing business.Initiate weekly plans to processes pulses which minimize processing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.Operate the plant at the highest levels of efficiency by managing equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness and managing site spending and expenses to minimum levels required to meet company strategy.Establish and maintain a positive relationship with local farmers, vendors and employees.Engage and motivate the workforce through an active presence on the processing floor.Requirements/Qualifications:Valid Class 5 License w/ reliable transportation.Class 1 License, an asset.2+ years of experience in a similar role.Ability to differentiate colours (green, yellow, orange, red).Previous experience operating material handling equipment (forklift, skid steer), an asset.Previous experience operating processing equipment, an asset.Working knowledge of Seed Industry of Canada, CFIA, COR and CGC regulations, an asset.Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hiring.Previous shipping and receiving experience, an asset.Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.If you feel that this position would be a great for both you and our client, please apply today!
