Job Description

We are currently seeking an Evening Shift Production Supervisor to join our team in Richibucto NB ! Work hours are from 3:30 PM to 1:45AM, Mondays to Thursdays . The ideal candidate will supervise and interact with all their assigned Team Members. This position is critical to the safety, quality, efficiency to the areas they supervise.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and support team members to achieve goals.
  • Maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate on production schedules.
  • Manage health and safety compliance and goals.
  • Ensure thorough investigation of all accidents and injuries, and properly manage investigation, documentation, modified job offers, and back-to-work agreements.
  • Work with maintenance to promptly address equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist lead hands with scheduling and troubleshoot daily issues.
  • Motivate and engage team members to meet production targets.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate initiatives.
  • Manage active team member files in coordination with HR.
  • Control costs and minimize production scrap or waste.
  • Approve payroll reports and exception slips; coordinate and approve vacations.
  • Coordinate employee transfers and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Communicate necessary information to day supervisors.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, maximizing productivity, and reducing waste and inefficiencies in machines and processes.
  • Lead, coach, support, motivate, recognize, and supervise team members by regularly visiting departments to provide support as needed.
  • Interview and select team members.
  • Address attendance issues as needed.
  • Report significant people or labor relations issues to the Production Manager.
  • Ensure all department employees maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
  • Experience as a shop/floor supervisor or lead-hand, specializing in areas such as 5S, corrective actions, lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis.
  • Proactive approach to work with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Advanced skills in job/task planning and organizing.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities coupled with strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high work/product demands.
  • Proficient in computers and technology with a solid understanding.
  • Adherence to safe work practices with a proven track record.
  • Effective team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, particularly Oracle.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions

  • Working in a manufacturing environment: exposure to noise, temperature variations, powered equipment and etc.
  • Managing continuous deadlines, multiple demands, and frequent interruptions.
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment: safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, and hearing protection.
