Venor is proud to partner with our client, Jost Vineyards to hire a Production Supervisor.Jost Vineyards, Atlantic Canada largest vineyard; located on the beautiful North Shore of Nova Scotia. Is excited to be celebrating their 40 th anniversary of providing their family of customers with award winning Nova Scotia fine wines. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team, reporting directly to the General Manager.Position OverviewThe successful candidate will oversee all aspects of our production and packaging processes, ensuring that production schedules are met with the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires close collaboration with the production team to manage daily activities, including bottling, and setting up equipment for the bottling, bagging, canning lines and fall harvest activity.As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies, coordinating with the procurement team for timely replenishment. You will safely and efficiently operate a forklift and ensure all equipment is properly prepared, cleaned, and set up. Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures is crucial, and you will conduct regular inspections and tests to identify and resolve any quality issues.Leading, training, and motivating production staff is essential, as you will foster a positive and collaborative work environment, assign tasks, and conduct performance evaluations. Ensuring all production activities comply with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards is a key part of this role. You will conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a culture of safety within the production team.Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance production efficiency and product quality are also important responsibilities. Additionally, you will maintain accurate production records, including batch logs, quality control reports, and inventory data. Preparing and presenting regular production reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement, is also required.Qualifications:Experience: Proven experience in production, with a strong knowledge of production equipment, including bottling, bagging, and wine canning machinery.Skills:Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50+ lbs.) and work on your feet throughout the day.Work Hours: Availability to work 42.5 hours per week with flexibility for overtime when needed.At Venor and Jost Vineyards, we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace.
