Job Description
Our client, a leading value-added custom packaging solutions provider, is currently seeking a Production Shift Supervisor (Rotating) to join their team immediately on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be joining a growing team of professionals who have over 40 years of experience embracing and leading the changes in pre-made packaging solutions. This position will be supervising the production operations and overseeing safety, quality, training, disciplining, and motivating to facilitate production process. Reporting to the Production Manager, this position will be working out of their facility in Brampton on a rotating shift.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans and schedules to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to Set-Up & Packer Operators.
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and quality system are followed.
- Troubleshoot and investigate problems and provide solutions.
- Review and approve weekly timecards within ADP payroll system.
- Review all production-related feedback to ensure data is accurate and distributed in accordance with established timelines and utilize the data to highlight issues and recommend solutions.
- Train or oversee training of team members in the use of equipment or production techniques, job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Review and approve all job proofs or samples to ensure quality of work meets client specifications.
- Ensure plant compliance with company policies and government regulations. Recommend measures to improve health and safety.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a college or university program in engineering or business administration
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing is preferred
- Understanding of film and converting processes is an asset
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Strong Leadership skills essential
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
