The successful candidate will hold Safety as the number one priority and be a natural and leader who can motivate the team to safely reach production targets. They will be able to quickly build trust and credibility with the team and have a "can-do" attitude who understands the importance of operational excellence. The Shaw Group has a strong safety culture, and this individual will embody the same safety mindset and lead by example. The Production Supervisor will be able to balance the demands of getting results with the importance of producing a quality product. The right person will have the opportunity to grow and develop their career with The Shaw Group.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have the following qualification, knowledge, and skills:Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.University or post-secondary degree preferredExcellent leadership and interpersonal skillsTeam orientedCustomer focus and understanding the importance of internal and external customer serviceExperience working in a strong safety cultureSolution-orientedAbility to solve problems and make decisions quickly and effectively.Project management skills considered an assetExcellent communicatorStrong organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with production management software.Ability to work with minimal supervisionStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to operate heavy equipment an assetPrevious experience with 5S or lean manufacturing principles and assetResponsibilitiesThis position requires an active supervisor in a plant environment with responsibilities including:The day-to-day production and operation in their areaCreating and maintaining a safe workplace for all employees"Managing Daily Performance" of the designated areas/personnel using the prescribed tools/reportingScheduling of employees and timecard approvalsAbility to direct work and collaborate with both unionized and non-unionized employeesAssessing preventive and reactive maintenance requirements and allocating resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtimeRegularly reporting productionContinuously striving to reduce expenses and increase productivity in all operationsEffectively communicating with production and maintenance staff, peers, and senior managersProviding motivation, support, and guidance to production and maintenance employeesAssist in the training and development of production staffEstablishing workflows and standard operating procedures that improve efficiency, safety, or qualityAdditional InformationWe understand the importance of investing in and developing our people.
