The Role
The Production Supervisor is accountable for the safety, quality, and productivity of the Assembly areas. They also offer hands-on support to the production team when required.
- Afternoon Shift: 10-hour working schedule, Monday to Thursday (2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. including lunch break).
What You Will Do
Specific Responsibilities
- Directly supervise a crew of production workers (+20 employees)
- Read and understand drawings (or blueprints) and measurements
- Read and understand schedules and prioritize jobs by date
- Coordinate parts for jobs with other areas in the Plant
- Ensure all employees wear the PPE required to safely complete job tasks.
- Supervise the performance of employees in the Assembly areas.
- Prepare for and conduct annual performance evaluation assessments.
- Prepare training plans for the supervised personnel.
- Provide hands-on training to employees.
- Conduct department tailgate meetings.
- Monitor and approve employee time off requests via Workday platform
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Minimum five years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three years' experience in managing people, schedules, workflow, safety, personnel, and equipment; Technical/Mechanical diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to perform in a high-volume, results-focused work environment effectively prioritizing workload.
- Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Able to use production software applications.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision (i.e., self-directed).
- Skilled at planning, estimating, and reporting.
- Superior analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and quality.
- Demonstrated knowledge of product manufacturing sequences and capabilities.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to deal with a diverse workforce along with demonstration of valuing teamwork.
- Value meeting the expectations and requirements of internal customers.
- Able to deal with personnel and delegate certain tasks.
- Able to be hands-on use of hand tools if required.
- Able to report all information to manager in a timely manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
