Production Planner (Vancouver B.C.)Job Summary/MissionThe Production Planner is responsible for the (Product Supply) accuracy and timeliness of the production process. They assist the Supply Chain/Operations team in ensuring that fulfillment needs are met in growing retail and ecommerce channels. This role should determine materials required in the production phase, consider contract manufacturer requirements, prepare status and performance reports, and resolve production issues with a sense of urgency. The Production Planner reports directly to the Director of Operations.Outcomes/Critical Success FactorsGenerate production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met, and 97% fill rate accuracy is achieved.Provide timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to contract manufacturers in order to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.Estimate the material requirements and contract manufacturer bandwidth, to ensure steady production and product delivery.Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.Prioritize according to demand, constraints, and promotion schedules for all channels.Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.Compile status and performance reports for management.Communicate changes to production schedules with relevant departments.CompetenciesPositive attitude and team player Well-versed in efficient production processesExperience with food production, the natural health industry, contract manufacturers, 3PL’s and ecommerce fulfillment processesProactive problem solving, focused on resolution and process improvement.Clear communicator (written/verbal)Exceptional organization and time-management skillsStrong regard for product quality and safety standardsSharp analytical and problem-solving skillsIntermediate to advanced level with MS applications Excel and OutlookAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, BOM’s, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.Technical knowledge of MRP or ERP systems (SAP Business One)Relevant post-education and/or certifications preferred.About TallGrass Natural HealthTallGrass Natural Health was created in 1997 when Matt Breech and Ben Banky met while studying in China.
