We collaborate closely and responsively to give defence departments, industry customers and academia a competitive edge through the safe and secure conduct of operational and tactical training exercises that combine both real world and simulated events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Engineering Support Production Engineer is responsible for the technical matters related to Production and products in and/or transitioning to production from prototype, and to act as a bridge between engineering & operations for all aspects of new and current uncrewed vehicle systems.

  • Engineering change requests and notices: creating, maintaining, and gaining approval for technical changes required for production, based on feedback from customers,
  • Act as the main Point of Contact for Change Orders and manage the administration of changes,
  • Assist in developing overall design and manufacturing improvements to existing products,
  • Assist Production with the transition from Prototype to Production readiness, including drawing packages, BOMs and tooling and,
  • Create Change Orders for technical drawings and publications,
  • Creating and maintaining production Work Procedures and Acceptance Test Procedures,
  • Assist with change, configuration and obsolete items and drive solutions for said items,
  • Reviewing technical drawings for manufacturability and overall drawing and system correctness,
  • Reviewing technical publications for content correctness and applicability, including Operational Material, Training Material, and other Technical Documentation,
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure products we order are manufactured intended. This involves reviewing vendor drawings and processes, answering any questions they may have, communicating any unmet needs,
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain team to address technical queries and actions,
  • Working in conjunction with other technical disciplines to ensure overall system requirements are achieved,
  • Working in conjunction with other departments to meet operational requirements,
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • Membership in ASET (or eligibility) – Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or equivalent preferred,
  • Membership in APEGA (or eligibility) – Engineer in Training (E.I.T) or equivalent preferred,
  • Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology,
  • Understanding of an Engineering discipline, either - Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Electronics, Fabrication, etc.
  • Experience with custom design and/or manufacturing environments,
  • Computer proficiency (Document Management Software, MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook),
  • Proficient knowledge of 3D modelling software (Autodesk inventor preferred).

Additional desirable assets would include:

  • Mechanical design software suites and analysis tools,
  • Technical writing,
  • Comprehension of Project Management Fundamentals,
  • Understanding of multiple Engineering disciplines - Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Electronics, Fabrication, etc.
