Basic FunctionPetro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company is seeking a full-time Production Control Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager Business Optimization, the Coordinator, Production Control will assist with the quality control, inventory management and logistics of incoming feedstocks, intermediates and finished products to ensure products meet customer requirements and are delivered on time in full (OTIF). Job DutiesIncorporates monthly LP plans, product demands, inventories, unit rates/yields and feedstock delivery logistics into a comprehensive refinery production schedule that is used to prepare daily operating instructionsIssues daily operating instructions to the plant defining unit operating targets and directing rundown streams to meet production requirementsAssists with adjustments to feedstock ratios, rundown streams and unit operating conditions to ensure all products meet specificationsMaintains feedstock inventories at the Mississauga Refinery and offsite terminalsParticipates in logistical supply of incoming feedstocks via trucks, rail cars and marine cargosMaintains inventory of finished products to align with product demands including the timing of marine cargo loadingMaintains the inventory, logistics and contractual commitments related to naphtha feedstock supply and intermediate exports including cat feed, diesel, reformate and slopMaintains inventories of feedstocks and intermediates in preparation for planned unit outagesMaintains winter feedstock logistics when marine shipments are shut down due to the seaway closureCoordinates processing of 3rd party base oils to increase production and profitsWorks with the Basestock Quality Team to evaluate new product opportunities and troubleshoot production quality issuesSupports the review, development and implementation of strategic initiativesResponds to emergency situation and ensure safe management of all inventories Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretionExperienceA minimum of 3 years of related experience is requiredEducation LevelA minimum of a university degree is required.Preference is for a degree in Process/Chemical EngineeringRequired SkillsRefinery Production Knowledge – Familiar with lubricant plant operations and processesOptimization – ability to generate and implement alternatives which save costs, increase production, increase yields or add valueBusiness Knowledge – ability to assess the economic cost and benefits of various alternativesOil Flow Planning - background in planning, quality assurance and process operationsLeadership skills with the demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and mentor reportable staffWilling and able to challenge status quo and seek new opportunities to maximize profit potentialsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsStrong presentation skillsActs as a team player for the greatest good of the organizationWork ConditionsThis is an office based role in a manufacturing environmentThis job may require working extended hours to meet organization requirements and deadlinesOur One HF Sinclair Culture:At HF Sinclair, we are united through our One HF Sinclair Culture, which is underpinned by our five core values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Ownership and Inclusion.
