Job Description

This position will be within the Manufacturing Operations team and will report to the Product & Project Engineering Manager.

The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:

  • Inspect, test and evaluate incoming electrical and electronics components to ensure conformance with product specification.
  • Conduct configuration and programming of electrical and electronic components.
  • Follow Engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Complete QC checklist and maintain the work by adhering to the standard operating procedures.
  • Technical assistance to production and using production and quality evaluation process.
  • Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems.
  • Conduct 48-hour burn-in test procedures and record data and analyze results.
  • Install, operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
  • Calibrate electrical and electronic equipment’s according to technical manuals and written instructions.
  • Achieve Quality Assurance objectives by monitoring day-to-day activities.
  • Accountable for creating comprehensive reports from daily collected data and timely documenting them to QC document.
  • Daily follow up on implementation and maintenance of quality standards.
  • Inspect and approve/reject production work and following the QC standard work practices.
  • Provide regular feedback to QA Supervisor regarding quality performance.
  • Must be proactive and take accountability of assigned projects.
  • Complete all other duties as required to support the mission of the department.
  • Organizes and documentation of all quality control checklist, tools & equipment and materials.
  • Organizes and follow procedures QC closeout procedures by documenting all images and checklist after the release of a project.
  • Complies with the quality standard set by Media resources quality digital production & quality department.
  • Assist in the design, development and testing of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and systems
  • Assist in inspection, testing, adjusting and evaluation of incoming electrical, electro-mechanical and electronic components and assemblies to ensure conformance with product specifications and tolerances
  • Conduct life tests (burn-ins) on assemblies and record and analyze results
  • Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications
  • Carry out a limited range of technical functions in support of research in electrical and electronic engineering and physics
  • Install, operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems
  • Calibrate electrical or electronic equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions
  • Collect and compile operational or experimental data and assist in the preparation of estimates, schedules, budgets, specifications and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and leadership
  • Build and test electronic assemblies
  • Working with tools
  • In-line quality checks for all assemblies
  • Highlight daily production issues to team lead as they arise
  • Following work instructions to ensure units are built to the highest quality standards
  • Responsible for identifying when a process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it
  • Suggest changes to improve current processes
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process
  • Strictly following health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Enter assembly build and quality check information into the ERP system
  • Assist in labelling of finished goods
  • Familiar with using personal protective equipment (glasses, gloves, etc.)
  • Strictly follow health and safety procedures and protocols

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

· Diploma or high school certificate

· Completion of a one- or two-year college program in electrical or electronics engineering technology is an asset.

· Certification in electrical or electronics engineering technology or in a related field is available through provincial associations of engineering/applied science technologists and technicians is an asset.

Work Experience:

· 1-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry
· Specific Competencies:
· Experience testing electronic devices and in Quality Control
· Ability to work overtime as necessary.
· Familiar with using personal protective equipment (glasses, gloves, etc.)
