Job Description

Perform In-depth Review of Analytical Results Accurately and in a Timely Fashion

Perform structural elucidation and determine the purity and identity of products based on
analytical data adhering to the company turnaround time
Search chemical databases and resources for literature and supporting data for structure elucidation and verification
Identify and interpret analytical results resulting from non-routine behavior, such as
rotamers, tautomers, diastereomers, hydrates and complexation
Recognize and rationalize out-of-specification (OOS) data through correlating various
analytical results and asking for additional tests to be performed when standard testing is
not sufficient to determine purity and identity beyond reasonable doubt
Analyze and troubleshoot out-of-trend (OOT) results and communicate findings
Ensure that data related to chemical structure and information is correct
Pre-approve supplier data, notify suppliers of rejected products and follow-up on rejections
Communicate with suppliers and TRC Purchasing

Create Certificates of Analysis (CoA)
Review and release analytical results for use by internal and external customers, ensure
and maintain a high level of quality
Create CoAs for the products reviewed, and ensure a high degree of accuracy

Enforce and Establish Standards of Quality
Ensure that all analytical data is reported according to guidelines
Identify and document out-of-trend (OOT) data for further escalation
Establish and/or update specifications for products as well as analytical data reporting
standards with direction and guidance

Perform other Duties
Assist with other duties as required
Complete additional projects as assigned, commensurate with job knowledge and
experience

Qualifications

M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry with >1-2 years of related work experience
Or similar Life Science degree and 3-5 years of related work experience

Strong problem solving and organizational skills
Excellent analytical result interpretation skills and high attention to detail
Strong knowledge of the theory and instrumentation of spectroscopy (NMR, MS, FT-IR,
UV/Vis, etc.) and chromatography (TLC, HPLC, GC, etc.)
Strong knowledge of the theory and application of analytical chemistry, wet chemistry,
and organic chemistry
Hands-on experience in NMR, HPLC, GC, wet chemistry, and organic chemistry
