Location: 530 West Broadway, Vancouver BC, Canada / 6th Ave Warehouse, Vancouver BC, Canada

Core hours: Monday to Friday from 8am – 4:30pm PST


We value collaboration, both in-person and remotely. This position is classified as Hybrid under our Hybrid Work Program Policy, where this position is required to be onsite 3-4 days per week.


Role Summary

As the Product Development Coordinator (PDC), you will support the Product Development Team in creating results-oriented organic skin care products that strengthen the Eminence brand and grow our Customers’ businesses. You will collaborate with and work alongside a Product Development Manager to provide support to the Product Development Team to assist with the research and development process for new product launches as well as for product re-development and special projects. As the Product Development Coordinator, you will report to the Product Development Manager and work closely with all Team Members of the Product Development Team.


Responsibilities

  • Research the marketplace and our competitors for new product launches, insights, and trends and present findings at the monthly market research meeting
  • Assist with internal category analysis & summarizing information on existing Eminence products (positioning, claims, features, advantages, benefits, rate of sale, etc.) to support recommendations for new product launches and overall portfolio management
  • Work closely with the PDM to utilize market research tools to gain consumer insights needed to support brainstorming sessions, future launch concepts, and product positioning
  • Conduct post-launch analysis on collections and present findings to the Product Development Team as part of the quarterly Data Reporting share out
  • Support with pricing and COGS analysis by getting the relevant raw category and COGS data prepared
  • Drive the GWP approval process: conduct initial discovery, put forth recommendations for approval, and present options for approval to Division Leaders & Executives. Work with Pkg Manager on timelines, and drive alignment meetings with Product Development, Sales and Marketing stakeholders on the proposal prior to approval meeting
  • Support in internal user testing of product and packaging samples to evaluate user experience against desired new product specifications
  • Support with clinical claims testing including setting up calls with vendors, working closely with the PDM to define inclusion criteria and instrumentation, handling the logistics involved with shipping all product required for testing in a timely manner, and supporting putting together any presentations to share results with cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate and facilitate product focus groups and external consumer surveys to provide insight into proposed product positioning, relatability, and appeal
  • Develop and oversee a system to manage all of Product Development’s competitive products including labeling all products, creating a filing system to store products, and tracking sign-out. As the driver of this process manage communication to the team on the SOP as needed.


Qualifications

  • College diploma or degree in Business and/or Marketing or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 3+ years of progressively increasing experience in an administrative role, ideally in a Product Development Team
  • Experience with consumer-packaged goods, ideally in the spa and/or personal care sector
  • Product research and development experience plus experience working with external vendors and cross-functional Team Members from: marketing, manufacturing, shipping, operations, QA/QC, sales
  • Sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing experience is an asset
  • Project management experience plus knowledge of Project Management software (e.g. Asana) is an asset
  • Quality control and quality assurance experience is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior grammar and composition skills; Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong customer service focus; seeks opportunities for continuous improvement; proactive, highly organized, and extremely detail-oriented including strong note-taking and proofreading abilities
  • Innovative and creative with superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality and best practices; problem-solving and critical thinking skills required
