About Brim:

Brim is an established fintech company based out of Toronto. Brim built a credit card infrastructure and digital platforms to bring much needed innovation to the cards space in Canada. Brim’s tech stack merges the two verticals of Credit Cards and Rewards/Loyalty in real-time. Brim’s infrastructure is live at all merchants worldwide. Since launching our first suite of credit cards in Canada in mid-2018, we continued to grow our presence, rolling out Brim’s B2B platform and partnering with Financial Institutions, FinTech's and large corporates to rollout market leading product platforms.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who is passionate about creating effective design solutions for Brim’s line of financial products. As a Product Designer at Brim, you will be responsible for improving the usability, functionality and accessibility associated with our products in a way that creates a positive and optimal experience for our customers.

As a Product Designer at Brim, you will be taking on the following responsibilities:

Find and identify pain points and issues users experience when using Brim’s products and produce effective design solutions:

  • Create effective user flows that allow the user to achieve their goals seamlessly
  • Design effective wireframes and prototypes for proposed design solutions
  • Work with product managers to improve existing flows or create innovative designs needed for additional features
  • Implement effective UI design to Brim’s line of products - from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors and fonts allowing for interface edits as needed
  • Use and apply best practices in UX and UI design
  • A keen eye for design

Skills & expertise needed:

  • Diploma or Degree in design
  • 2-4+ years of working experience in end-to-end digital product design
  • Expertise in creating user experience flows and wireframes to sketch out design solutions
  • Strong ability to create high-fidelity clickable prototypes
  • Expertise using product design software's such as Figma* (what we currently use), Sketch (what we used before).
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience with project management software's such as Jira and OneDrive and emailing software’s such as Mailchimp
  • Knowledge and experience in web design & responsive design
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Account for challenges using problem-solving skills and seek to optimize data for the best possible outcome
  • Ability to work within the constraints of a Design System with flexibility, and a desire to push existing standards to the next level by contributing back to our Design System library.
  • Experience in end-to-end design projects from concept to implementation
  • Always striving for designs that meet W3C WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A & AA web standards that are AODA compliant

Bonus:

  • Experience with conducting user testing to assess the usability of our products with a sample customer base.
  • Create surveys for research through various media platforms to gather feedback on user's ease of use and satisfaction
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
