Procurement Manager

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Procurement Manager to join their growing team and play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing their supply chain operations.

As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic development of category plans within your area of responsibility. You will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to remain current on industry trends that could lead to development of new strategic initiatives in providing sustainable growth, sales, and profitability. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining our client’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Procurement Manager Responsibilities:

·       Develop Procurement Strategies: Formulate and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with company objectives to optimize costs, improve quality, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

·       Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers; negotiate contracts and terms; establish long-term relationships to secure reliable supplies and competitive prices.

·       Cost Management: Monitor market trends and analyze price proposals to maintain competitive procurement costs; implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

·       Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers; ensure compliance with terms and conditions, legal requirements, and company policies.

·       Inventory Control: Coordinate with the inventory and logistics team to maintain optimal stock levels, manage lead times, and reduce excess inventory.

·       Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure procured goods meet the required standards and specifications.

·       Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies; ensure business continuity through proactive planning and alternative sourcing.

·       Vendor Performance: Develop performance metrics for suppliers; conduct regular evaluations and audits to ensure adherence to agreed standards and expectations.

·       Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with internal departments such as finance, operations, and R&D to understand their needs and provide procurement support.

·       Data Management: Maintain accurate procurement records, analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and prepare reports for senior management.

·       Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies; uphold ethical standards and transparency in all dealings.

Qualifications:

·       Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.

·       Experience: Minimum of [5-7] years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least [3] years in a managerial role.

·       Skills:

o   Strong negotiation and communication skills.

o   Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.

o   Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

o   Solid understanding of supply chain management principles.

o   Excellent organizational and project management skills.

·       Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract law, and industry-specific regulations and standards.

·       Attributes: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders; proactive, results-oriented approach; high ethical standards.
