Mercer Celgar is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Operational Excellence Team as a Process Engineer. The Process Engineer is accountable for the completion of the technical projects in their assigned area of responsibility.

  • Carry out technical projects involving process and quality improvements and technological change.
  • Be familiar with all aspects of kraft pulp manufacturing including product costs and available industry technology.
  • Be alert for waste or loss of any kind, whether of time, material or equipment, and take steps to correct any of these.
  • Develop the skills and capabilities of those junior staff working under their direction to ensure that they contribute to the best of their abilities towards the mill’s objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager, Operational Excellence.
  • Training/mentoring employees as required keeping them abreast of technological changes introduced into the workplace.

Qualifications and Experience


B.A Sc. in Chemical Engineering preferred
5-7 years demonstrated industry experience.
Ability to independently carry out process design work
Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills
Strong data analysis and visualization ability
Excellent time management, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
Currently registered or eligible for registration with EGBC as a P.Eng or E.I.T

Salary

The salary for this position is $96,000.00 – $144,500.00. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
