The ability to work in (or willingness to learn!) a tech-enabled environment is a must.What We NeedPrivacy Lawyer5-15 years’ experience as a practicing attorney, with 5+ of those years as a matter expert providing legal advice on privacy, security, and data protection regulations, including (but not limited to) HIPAA, GDPR, FTC Section 5, state privacy laws, privacy impact assessments and development of frameworks, data-sharing and development of safeguards, and other related matters. Vendor relationship management/contract negotiation on privacy issues relating to third-party data sharing arising from new products and features. Substantive data protection and data privacy experience and in-depth knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and EU privacy statutes, including GDPR and CCPA. Knowledge of standardizing policies, protocols, and training programs, including the associated documents such as vendor and client contracts; includes guiding various stakeholders, such as business and product development, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and procurement. Expertise drafting, negotiating and revising privacy and data protection provision of contracts and agreements. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively partner with internal business clients, support staff, external resources, and other collaborators and provide guidance and pragmatic solutions. Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and function independently without extensive supervision.
