We are offering an exciting opportunity within our reinsurance practice for an individual seeking to further advance their career in a consulting environment with global exposure. The role is based in Toronto.

Summary Statement

We are offering an exciting opportunity within our reinsurance practice for an individual seeking to further advance their career in a consulting environment with global exposure. The role is based in Toronto.

This role provides the opportunity to shape NMG Consulting’s core Reinsurance Insights & Consulting propositions in North America, including project design and client delivery, enhancing the profile and value of our reinsurance programmes. The successful candidate will have the capability to be considered a subject matter expert and trusted adviser to clients and colleagues over-time. Immersion in our methodologies will be critical for success, along with the ability to articulate and debate insights and key messages with senior executives. You will collaborate closely with senior colleagues to develop insightful analysis, deepen relationships with existing clients, contribute to consulting assignments and drive continuous improvements.

This position will suit a motivated individual with credible experience in the primary life & health insurance or reinsurance industry, who possesses strong analytical skills in addition to excellent client management abilities.

  • Managing client deliverables as part of the broader NMG global reinsurance proposition, including topic coverage, insights development, analytics review and communicating critical findings to clients
  • Collaborating with NMG specialists who have developed similar programmes globally, ensuring application and collaboration around global best practice
  • Maintaining and building a network of industry contacts and developing rapport with key client decision makers through proactive engagement on topics and industry themes
  • Undertaking analysis, accessing our proprietary data sets to generate ideas and insights through the NMG thought leadership program
  • Providing guidance, coaching and mentoring to a team of direct reports as required to ensure their ongoing progression and development

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years’ experience within the insurance or reinsurance industry (or consulting in the same), with exposure to roles including client management, product development / design, actuarial, strategy or product marketing functionalities. Life and/or P&C reinsurance experience is an advantage
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification and strong analytical credentials
  • Highly motivated to learn, collaborative by nature and able to work effectively within and across global teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; proven analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and committed to high quality standards
  • An ability to develop relationships with clients and influence the thinking of key decision makers, making strategic contributions and leading presentations
  • Leadership and people management capabilities, empowering, mentoring and developing colleagues that you work with
